Jayla was finishing drying her hands when she heard the screaming.
"Mom? Dad?" She called out, dropping the yellow hand towel and running to the kitchen where they were preparing dinner. "Sean? Senora?"
The screams continued, then were shut off and followed by sobbing. Jayla turned the corner of the hallway and finally came to the kitchen, the noises growing louder as she neared it.
"Hey, what's happe-"
Jayla's face paled as the words shoved themselves down her throat, saying, nope, not doing that, time to go, now let's beat it out of here, as her brain kick-started and adrenaline coursed through her body.
