Everest: Pluto

Time seems to freeze as he stands up, looking at you as if you didn't exist at all. He rubs his temples.
"Are you serious?" He asks, knowing you are.
" I can do this! This isn't even that big of a mission, you guys do stuff like this all the time! I don't thin-"
"You're a fucking liability! What happens if you get hurt?"
He says, walking towards you.
"Everyn, I love you, so, so much. We all do. If we let you die and we can't find you, what would happen?"
I knew what would happen. Tears welled up in my eyes. He was right. I didn't want to be alone again. It was awful.
"But I'll be here alone. And useless." I said in a voice that barely came out above a whisper.
He sighs and gives in before looking up at you and uttering one word.
"Okay."
He stood up and walked backwards. Then, time went back to normal.
"Mission Pluto starts now."
