In 16th century England, three old witches wander the moors seeking respite from their boredom. As their hands twirl and their cauldron bubbles a game of champions is devised. A winner they wager will be decided by whichever champion is the last alive.

The people of England grieve over the recent loss of their beloved king. He is remembered by his vain wife, Orphillia, and their only child, Margarete. Orphillia's beauty once the fairest in her realm begins to fade as her daughter ages into grace and womanhood. Any mother would be happy to see their daughter grow up, yet when suitors begin filling the court seeking Margarete's hand in marriage, envious Orphillia cannot help but find ways to make her daughter's life miserable even if it means she must remarry. Unfortunately with the intervention of magical talking mirrors, ghostly visits in the night, seven chimney sweeps, a disguised Spanish prince, and a power hungry duke, this deadly game of love and beauty may be more entertaining if there is no winner at all.

A loose historic retelling of the Snow White tale, this story is a book version of the stage play, Kiss Me Farewell, I wrote and self published back in 2013.
