That was five years ago. Now when another student is found dead again, all signs point to Jack.
Jack never asked to be apart of a crime that he didn't commit and he wasn't about to be sent to prison for it. As Jack digs up clues, he slowly will find that both murders are connected. Can Jack find the murderer before he's sent away? Who can he trust?

Trace Evidence by psychthrillers
1 part Complete Mature
TRACE EVIDENCE is a story of murder, avarice and betrayal. Brothers Howard and Jeffrey Mills, both postal mail handlers, are initially suspects in the bludgeoning and dismembering murders of three prostitutes. Eventually, homicide detectives zero in on Howard as their primary target. An avalanche of forensic evidence leaves no doubt in anyone's mind that the women were killed in Howard’s one-room rental. In the words of the lead prosecuting attorney, “That room was a slaughterhouse.” But is Howard Mills the murderer? The defendant admits solely to the victims’ postmortem amputations. Extraordinary pressures are applied by the district attorney’s office for the police to quickly ensure a confession so as to deem Howard death penalty qualified. Suffolk County Homicide Detective Gary York misrepresents himself as an attorney who promises to help Howard by getting him into a mental hospital if he confesses; otherwise, life in prison without the possibility of parole versus the death penalty are the two alternatives presented to Mills. Howard accepts the offer but is left hanging in the wind at his arraignment, believing that he is legally well-represented. Howard Mills is found guilty and sentenced to die by lethal injection. Detective Gary York’s suspicions are raised that eventually point to another family member. The motive is money and invaluable properties—a veritable fortune if that person can successfully manipulate Howard into relinquishing his assets . . . sooner than later.

Who would want to kill a time-travelling librarian? Time-travelling police detective Erik Midgard thought he had changed his fate. But now he is burdened with new knowledge that suggests the future is more flexible than he thought. He might not have escaped his predicted destiny after all. To make things worse, he has another murder to solve. At the solar system's greatest university on the moon, a group of historians and their students are using time travel to recover the great lost libraries of ancient civilisations. Travelling back to times before these libraries were destroyed, they are secretly recording the contents of all the books and bringing the data safely back to the present. They have saved the entire collections of the libraries of Alexandria, Ctesiphon, Nalanda, the Serapeum, the House of Wisdom in Baghdad and the Mayan libraries of the Yucatan and have many more still to rescue. They have already learnt countless new facts about the civilisations that created these libraries and the project has so far been an unqualified success. But when the professor who founded the project is found dead, it very quickly becomes clear to Erik and his partner Mirabi that something else is going on. Newly promoted after their success at the Time Traveller's Ball, this should be a straightforward murder investigation. But the project's staff, students and security guards are all hiding more secrets than the libraries they have rescued contain, and at least one of them is prepared to kill to protect them. But as they search for answers, Erik starts to suspect that one of the secrets might just be a way to solve the unsolvable. And if it is, could it also be a way for him to save himself?

What? Well, that's interesting... maybe. No, not interesting at all! Why would she- ugh. I didn't even wanted to have a gun in the first place... I unwillingly drop the gun. "How do you feel now, Morgan?" She says, more pointing something out than asking a question. She grabs hold of my wrists and tightens them. If I could see properly I could swear I see them turn purple. "I could beat you to the bone, right here, right now, till you die from your injuries. But, I won't. You will die. Maybe not today, maybe not in a month, but you will." Well, obviously I'm going to die. Humans don't live forever. "Wonder why?" "No, and I really don't care." She answers anyway. "Because we have the power, the people, and the weapons to do it. Face it, you're defenseless against us." I feel some blood flooding my mouth, so I, being a perfectly nice person, spit it in her face. That doesn't faze her at all. "I have the strength and intelligence, something you clearly don't have. Whatever y'all do to me, it won't break me. I will put up a hell of a fight before losing. I will fight, and I will win." I turn over and look at her fellow companions. "Even if I die doing it." "Is that a risk you're willing to take?" ____________________________________ 17 year old Morgan Peters is an average girl living life.
