My grandfather, Rocco, was an excellent short story writer and poet. None of his work has been published. This is one of his favorites that I have transcribed.

Sheila and Frank Alden are two ends of the same rope. The farm life has given them a lot to think about, and their married life has stretched that rope to its absolute peak and maximum. What good does honesty do for a marriage, and ultimately can it change everything?

Callista De Luca It's no easy thing, being a woman in my world. We are sold like cattle and treated like them too. Made to be traded, bred, and used. I refuse to be subjected to such a heinous fate. So much so that I have gone to great lengths to avoid such a life, to protect myself and those I love. Lengths that would cost me my life and the lives of those I love. So, they have to be a secret - my secret. In order to stay alive, no one can know about what I do. I have to keep my secret. Nothing else matters. Koen Moretti It's no easy thing, being the head of the New York Cosa Nostra. I have enemies everywhere I look, and the pressure would crush anyone other than me. I have fought tooth an nail, and lost many close to me in order to get where I am, and nothing and no one can take away what I've built. It's all I have, all I want, and all I need. I have to keep my empire. Nothing else matters. ***** Callista De Luca and Koen Moretti are both focused on their own agendas. Callista is protecting her secret and herself as vehemently as Koen is his empire. And neither of their plans involved the other person. But in a turn of events, the two are forced not only to acknowledge each other, but to come together in holy matrimony. Tempers flare, agendas clash, and backs are stabbed. But can the two work together to get passed their biases and personal interests? To work through their pasts and come out the other side? To see someone else rather than themselves for a change? They better hope so, because lives are on the line, and they have to make sure it isn't crossed. ***** Trigger Warning: Contains mature themes such as murder, blood, and sexual abuse.

My Multibillionaire Husband

38 parts Complete

I was 18 when my father arranged a marriage with a young multibillionaire man to make peace between our families, I didn't want this. Isaac Miller is a multimillionaire, he owns thousands of companies across the world and I'm just Claudia Richardson; 18 years old, kind, innocent and caring. ~~ This is it, the moment everyone's been waiting for. Everyone but me. "Do you Isaac Stone Miller, take Claudia Rose Richardson to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold in sickness and in health. To love and to care?" The priest asks. "I do," he responds. "Now, do you Claudia Rose Richardson take Isaac Stone Miller to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold in sickness and in health. To love and to care?" So many thoughts are swarming around in my head, I want to shout NO! But I can't, I look out at the crowd. Everyone is looking at me, mother is smiling, father is leaning forward in his seat. The ones you love the most hurt you the most. I will always question why I made this choice, why I said yes, it was my fathers fault. But my own heart stopped as I softly said to the man that I don't and will never love; "Yes." Highest rank: #28 in Romance 6/2/17 *completed *NOT A WEREWOLF BOOK
