After a grizzly accident leaves Vicky orphaned,  she is adopted by her best friend's family. 

She lives under her best friends house for years while avoiding any interactions with him.  Fate has other plans though and they wind up in the same homeroom during their last year. 
This forces her to confront the issues they've had since Vicky was adopted into their family.

" I cant take it anymore! " he fisted his hand in his hair. 
She took his hands in hers and looked into his grey eyes. 
" I'm here for you, " she whispered,  " always."

" I'm so afraid,  " she stammered. 
He looked into her eyes,  one a vivid amber,  the other a dazzling cerulean blue. 
" Don't be,  " he pulled her close, "Ill take care of you "
