The Vermillion Strain: Book I
17 parts Ongoing MatureKrystin, Noel, Dylan, and Trent are stressed out. Krystin is trying to get into Harvard and her twin brother Noel can barely interact with the opposite sex without having a panic attack. College sophomore Dylan, their older brother, is working up the nerve for a possible proposal, and Trent, Noel's best friend, is drowning in his father's relentless pressure to join the military. Needless to say, their stress isn't entirely unfounded.
But when a deadly man-made virus breaks out and things like clean water and grocery shopping become things of the past, they see the stresses of their old lives as child's play.
As the virus gets closer, their two families worry about their dwindling resources and the roving criminals edging closer and closer to their homes, the outcomes of which would lead to far better deaths than catching the virus. Fortunately for these four, the cavalry comes, complete with a cure for the virus and a plan to ensure that it never returns and those still alive stay nice and healthy. But there's one big problem---the cavalry isn't human and their desire to help is self-serving. Something that Krystin, Noel, Dylan, and Trent ---as well as everyone around them--- are about to find out the hard way.
