Kaycee is a passive child. Introverted. Cold. Unemotional.
Is it shocking to think that she got herself a boyfriend? Maybe. Is it shocking to know that this boyfriend cheated on her? Not so much. But is it shocking to have that boyfriend murdered with her being the main suspect? YES.
Kaycee does not want to get involved, let alone be a suspect in a crime she did not commit. Forced to be in such circumstances, she finds herself unwillingly investigating Edmund's murder... only to find surprising threads and clues that led her to believe she (might) have been the one who murdered her ex.

All the people who were killed were women, all of which had some sort of relationship with a well known and successful businessman named Asriel Parker.
