Paige Akerman could be just like you. A 17 year old dreaming about her first morning waking up in her dorm. Senior year just beginning and the blood pounding and rushing through her veins. One step… Two steps… Three steps… Up until you reach the front double door gates. But her story isn’t like yours because you are still alive, and Paige Akerman isn’t. She tried so hard not to be herself. She thought she “wasn’t good enough”. She thought she was alone. But she wasn’t. It is sad how she notices after it is too late. Paige didn’t know more people cared about her than she ever imagined. Over 200 people arrived to her funeral, grieving her loss. Her neighbors, family, classmates, soccer team, teachers, and so many more people arrived, bawling their eyes out. This story is based on a true story. I would know. Paige Akerman is my sister. And this is her story.
