Presley is a thirteen year old girl with her baby brother Freddy who is two. It's just an ordinary school day and a babysitter looking after Freddy. Then Presley comes home to find Freddy being mistreated. The babysitter attacks her and then... a gun fired.... what happened next?
The dead are coming to life, like in the movies. Presley has choices and she needs to fight for her little brother. She's scared she'll get killed. She's only thirteen and she's never experienced anything so horrible. While she's fighting to live she meets other survivors, some good and bad. Her friends die, she meets annoying girls her age, she fights for her new family. What will happen?

Later on in his teen years, Hunter would finally have the courage to fight back against Ed after finding out that his own father would sexually assault his baby sister, and would come this close to getting Ed in jail until Carol, at the last second, would press no charges on her husband, leaving Hunter infuriated with his own mother still being willing to stay by Ed's side. During this time, he developed a friendship with the fellow survivors, including Dixon brothers, and while Merle was dead set against teaching Hunter about living outdoors, Daryl would take up the reigns and mentor Hunter in living off the land and hunting for food while being capable of being the camp's chef a few times.
