She belonged to a society separated by clans. The druids were all sent at a young age to the clan of the druids for training. The other Clans worshipped them as priests of the Antlered King, and they alone were permitted to live in his grove.

After the forest was burned, leaving Auryon the lone survivor, she is raised by wolves, until captured by slavers. As a shapeshifter, she is made to fight in "The Pits," a nightmarish dog-fighting ring for supernatural creatures and execution grounds for those sentenced to death.

Her only ally is Ghislain, a Blood Hunter, of the Order of Lycans. She alone can tame the beast he becomes with the rising of the moon, and is his only hope to remove the curse laid upon him by the same Antlered King she once worshipped.
