A Wildflower is a flower of an uncultivated variety, capable of growing freely without human intervention.
Eleanor defines herself as a wild flower: she is a cold and unfriendly girl, wild, free, who doesn't know what love is, neither the sentimental one nor the parenting one. She is afraid of the world, always ready to hurt her and abandon her. The only kind of affection that she knows is the one she reserves for her skateboard, for flowers and her little brother Chase, the only ones who can make her feel less alone.
Until she meets Yoongi, a boy who appears to be mysterious, dangerous, dark and tormented, who makes his skin the canvas on which to tell his story, black on white.
Both with a difficult past behind them, but different stories.
Both wounded, but if Eleanor has shut herself up in her world not to suffer and she does not even want to be touched by unknown hands, on the other hand Yoongi needs physical contact in order to feel alive.
Same past, different reactions and consequences.
The only things they have in common would seem to be not knowing what it really means to love and some unspeakable secrets.
Wildflower is introspection, discovery, fear, courage and redemption together, with the teaching that everyone is indiscriminately made to love and be loved despite their own demons always ready to return to the surface.
