The Hayes mansion is huge, and Grace Jordan is going to be living in it for the year. She meets Michael and Matthew Hayes, the sons of Mr and Mrs Hayes. She befriends Anna, Gero, and Alberto, the staff of the mansion.

Then there's Keller, the third son. Grace only rarely sees him, but when she does, she's always awestruck. Keller looks like an angel with his pure white, shaggy hair and his green eyes, but there's nothing angelic about him. At all.

Keller is a vampyer. A special kind of vampyer. He has a tattoo that runs down his back in all sorts of pretty patterns. Not that he lets anyone - except his female toys - see it. But what happens when Grace accidentally sees it? Keller suddenly feels different, and he doesn't like it. He knows what's happening to him, but he doesn't want Grace to be the one.
To be his ànima bessona.

And when a car crash strikes Grace's parents, and when Grace runs away, Keller must do everything in his power to find her... before his equal match grabs her first.
