In sixth grade Harper Clark-Parker tries to commit suicide by starting a building fire, her bestfriend, Oliver Cooper's dad saves her but loses his life in the process.
It's then that Oliver decides that before she tries again, he needs to get away from her to spare the pain and decides to split ways and Harper, not long after, moves away for a 'fresh start'.
Five years later she returns to finish out her last years of high school hoping to maybe mend things with some people, but after seeing her ex best friend, she's not sure she wants to, or can, become friends with them again.
This maybe something that can't be fixed.
