A short story (just under 7500 words) about a human orphan named Khione living on her dead family's farm in the gorgeous snowy terrain. Her small town is populated by humans and fae, some who intermingle seamlessly while others do not. She is struggling with a severe depressive episode during the month of November and fighting a budding attraction for Ash, the Shadow King.

Ash is working on minimum wage, barely having money for rent and a sick mother whose treatments he's trying to cover. But even if they lack money, they have plenty of love. Miles' family has money to bathe in, but even his fairest efforts aren't enough to please his demanding dad.
