Throughout Goldie Darwin's life, death has been a constant shadow that clings to her. It clung to her even more so after the death of her adoptive brother Jann Ursa who was mistakenly killed by an illusive hunter from the forest named Holter Grosvenor.
Goldie, with the help of another of her adoptive brothers Attier embark on an adventure from deep in the Umburke forest to put the hunter in jail for his crimes, while racing against their eldest brother Trejean who is also searching for the hunter.
Trejean's plans are more bloodthirsty and cruel than his adoptive sister and brother's. He plans to kill the hunter accident or not. If Goldie and Attier do not succeed in stopping Trejean and executing their plan for Holter's jail sentence, the run the risk of mourning the loss of yet another brother.
