"Can I take these off now? My blisters have blisters." Charlie moaned and the ladies around her sighed. "You'll never be treated as you should if you don't dress or act the part Charlotte." The tallest woman said. Charlie gave her a hard cold stare and crossed her arms defiantly. She'd had enough of being told what to do. "Maybe I don't want to be treated as you think I should! And for the last time, it's Charlie." She shouted, her emotions getting the better of her. Anger coursing through her, she fled the room, slamming the door behind her furiously. After all, she'd never asked for this. Not any of it. From what Charlotte Sutton knows of her early life, she was left on a doorstep when she was a mere three weeks old, abandoned. 21 years later, the girl merely wants to get through life and her birthday without any reminders of her past or being unwanted, as she believes she is. "Do you know what you've done to me, Annalise?" Her breath caught. "I-" "I can't think of anything but you." His voice was dark velvet. "Not since that night. Not since you pulled away." She stepped back-hesitant. He followed like a shadow. "Your Highness, you're-" "Different?" A slight tilt of his head. "Yes. You made me this way." Her hands trembled against her gown. "I didn't mean to-" "Didn't you?" His words wrapped around her. And there was no space left between them. _*_*_*_*_*_ In the heart of two ancient kingdoms, a princess draped in moonlight and sorrow was given to a prince carved from ice and iron. Princess Annalise Seraphina Charlotte of Eldoria carried the crown of a fallen family, her kingdom trembling on the edge of ruin. Graceful, kind, and untouchable as a winter rose, she was the last hope of a land that had lost everything. Prince Harold George Edmund of Valdermere was a warrior born of war and silence. With a crown of duty and eyes that revealed nothing, he was trained to rule with strength, not sentiment. Bound by an arranged marriage neither wished for, they stood together-strangers beneath golden arches, united for the sake of peace. But even in a world of thrones and treaties, hearts still whisper. And sometimes, even the coldest of unions can catch fire. This is the tale of two souls, burdened by duty, surrounded by shadows, and yet... destined to find something neither of them believed in anymore. Love. _*_*_*_*_*_ Book:1 in So Royal Series. Can be read as a standalone.
