In high school, Chloë is being targeted by the popular kids because of a misunderstanding. Her high school social life is over-as they say.

But in Chemistry class, the teacher picks out the names of the partners from a bag, and she gets partnered-up with one of the most popular guys in school-who's also failing the class-and a bunch of others-and needs her help to graduate.

So he asks her to be his tutor because his father cannot know about his failing nor about him needing help to make the grade.
