Red and Green has been rivals ever since childhood. Everything was rivalry between them, eating, sleeping and catching Pokémon. Their friendship may not have been the most pleasant, but they care for each other to an extent.
When Red defeated Green out of impulse and inferiority, it shattered Green's hopes and dreams of becoming Champion. He wouldn't speak or even look at Red from that day onwards. Obviously, Red was riddled with unspeakable shame, and fled to Mount. Silver, where he stayed for a full 3 years.
One day, Red decided to climb down the mountain for groceries when he bumped into his long lost rival. How would they greet each other? With hatred and resentment? Or with nostalgia?
