Cassius Crane is a curious college kid constantly questioning his own self worth. Coming from the small town tobacco farms in CT he's earned his way into one of the more prestigious schools on the East Coast, Wesleyan University. On a full ride, with a track and field scholarship, will Cassius be able to slow things down and find more to his life than running?
This coming of age story follows Cassius through his first year in college with friendships, new challenges, girls, and him finding out there might be more to life than living in his head. Cassius is an overconfident, quick witted, academic brain by day and a secret poet at heart. Instead of scribbling in his notebooks will Cassius be able to express his true feelings to the world? After volunteering to play editor for the schools literary magazine, Cassius enters some of his own work anonymously under the pen name "The Red Crown" and gains the attention of half the school's single social life. Rumors spread quickly about who this new writer could be that even the school staff start to question who could be.
Will Cassius continue to hide his writing from his teachers, friends, and the school's literary board? Will he be able to pluck up the courage to truly express himself?
