"I'm just gonna say it!". His random declaration scares me, and I step back a little out of surprise, my lower back hitting the table behind me. "Nina Everett...". Thank God he didn't decide to do this publically. Can you even begin to imagine the embarrassment? "I like you... a lot". His eyes meet my own for the shortest moment, but then he proceeds to stare down at the rather uninteresting, wooden floor of the library. A second later, he nods, as if finally strengthening his resolve. "Will you please... please... go out with me?". Popularity means EVERYTHING to Nina. Just the thought of not being the most beautiful, most intelligent, most envied and most wanted girl in school depresses her. Cody is that guy. The guy who asks you out in Year 8 and you dismiss it because, ew! He's not even hot! But then by the time Year 13 swings around, he happens to be super cute, but is instantly classed as a loner. He doesn't associate with the all important circle, he's not on the football team and how can Nina ever be seen with anybody who isn't on the football team?! Its unheard of! Thing is, he likes her, and she likes him. Its your typical boy likes girl, girl likes boy situation. Except boy cant have girl because girl likes popularity just that tiny bit more.

David has a huge, life-ruining, crush on Alyssa Harvard (who is only about one billion times out of his league). As if that wasn't enough of a problem, her parents want her to date a "gentleman" (a trait which composes about 1% of David's DNA). Being assisted by a random guy he literally just met (like seriously, where did this Ricky guy come from?), and all the while being hindered by his ridiculous friends, family drama that refuses to stay buried, and the chaos that is life in general... the chances of David getting the girl seem slim to none. But the day that Ricky Santos fails at something, is the day that pigs sprout wings and fly, so whether the world likes it or not... David is GETTING that date. David's life is about to get a whole lot classier. (Prepare yourself for mayhem.)
