 The world wasn't supposed like it was meant to be... it was heading toward darkness and "ruin" could no longer be avoided, so a Trickster needed to rise to save the planet from the abyss of murkiness. The country was shrouded with mysterious incidents that sent terror to its people.

Ren Amamiya, a prisoner of fate, found himself in a once-in-a-lifetime case after moving from his hometown to Tokyo after being found guilty for trying to save a person in need. Condemned for a crime he didn't commit, thrown behind bars, hurt by his own parents, expelled from his school, bullied by his classmates, and looked at as scum by the eyes of society.

In a whim of fate, he met Emiko Hayashi; a girl with an untold secret that was locked away within the depths of her soul. Nagisa Konno; a shy and timid boy who vowed to protect his little sister from the ugliness of the world by any price he had to pay. Kasumi Yoshizawa; the mysterious and beautiful rhythmic gymnast who moved to Shujin under a scholarship, dreaming to reach the world championship to honor her late twin.

In his new home, Ren founded the Phantom Thieves of Hearts, a group of youthful and passionate vigilantes who took the task of changing society and give courage to the weak. Living an ordinary high school life in Tokyo by day, the group maneuvered the metropolitan city by night, guiding the world away from ruin. However, through his journey of rehabilitation, Ren faced the most difficult choice... shall he refuse the reality imposed by him, he shall sacrifice the happiness of others.

After months of getting to know and love Futaba Sakura, knowing that she is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with, it's all ripped away by one man. Takuto Maruki has decided that people cannot be allowed to think for themselves, and that they should never have to feel pain, well, unless you interfere with his plan. After being thoroughly trounced by the Phantom Thieves, Maruki makes one last ditch attempt to break the theives, and kills Futaba. In his blind rage, Akira Kurusu, otherwise known as Joker takes matters into his own hands, and stops the mad God in his tracks. Time reverts to its original self, with Akechi dead and gone and Maruki and Futaba alive and well, and Akira in Juvinile Detention. After being freed from prison, he finds out that something went wrong when the timeline was restored. Futaba knows him not as her lover, but merely as his friend. Now Akira must find a way to cope with this new life in Hometown, while trying to juggle the return of the Metaverse, and Futaba tries to find her way through the complex feelings she has for Joker, but can't quite explain, as well as the dreams that almost feel like memories. Will she push through and recover her memories and her love? Or will she and Akira both fade into the Mementos of what they have lost. I took a couple liberties with events and the Timeline, but overall, I stayed fairly close to the original game's story. This is a passion project that sprung to mind while driving, and now I'm hyperfixated... Welp, time to churn out a book. ENJOY READING IT!!
