Five years after meeting the young Prince Varick, Rinian now works as King Varick's personal bodyguard. In his short rule, Varick has made drastic changes to the kingdom that, coupled with the spread of dangerous rumors, have led to countless assassination attempts. For Rinian, life in the palace is filled with new friends, more rules than he can follow, and an unending fight to keep Varick alive.
