Hunter James has two sides to her; her average side and her not-so-average side. The average side of her is a basic 16 year old girl. She has bright red curly hair; she’s 5’8 feet and has all the right curves. She spends most her time listening to music, reading, singing along with the piano and the occasional good drawing. Then there’s the not-so-average side to her. Hunter is running away from her past. And where better else to start again than Texas? But what happens when Hunter meets Dominic Turner? The captain of the basketball team. Dominic and his group of friends just so happen to be the bad asses in school. He has set himself a mission: To get to know more about Hunter. Just as she seems to be getting her life on track, her past decides to catch up to her.

You'd think that finding out that your all-state football champion boyfriend has been cheating on you with your best friend, that you got rejected from the college of your dreams , and that you're actually not biologically your parents', all in one day, would be crazy; and you'd be totally right. But for Harper Dale, an over privileged 17 year old, it's just a typical Tuesday afternoon. When everything in her life falls apart within the span of five hours, she's lost...until her saving grace appears in the form of a black SUV and three boys she hardly knows. Soon, she's on the road to absolutely nowhere, to find out where she comes from and who she wants to be with four unlikely allies; her obnoxious sworn enemy, his slightly less obnoxious best friends, and an aging go go dancer that may or may not be a sign that she's completely lost her mind. All Harper has to do is get her answers and ignore the fact that she may or may not be feeling head over heels for the one person capable of actually hurting her. Easier said than done.
