When you are the source of light and hope of the people dear to you, where would you turn to if the past mixes up with the present and consumes every part of you? How will you stand still if your ground is crumbling yet your feet are tied? Life wouldn't stop challenging you. It was meant to bring out a version of you that you never knew existed.

Many people walk through life never truly understanding the person behind the mask. Is it a case of multiple personalities? A carefully faked persona? Or simply a survival tactic to blend in, to be accepted? This book was written to shed light on the unseen struggles of a "masked" individual, a person who had to adjust to unfamiliar environments, not out of choice, but necessity. It's based on personal experience, shaped by moments of silence, forced smiles, and quiet battles. Behind the laughter was pain. Behind the confidence was fear. And behind the mask was someone longing to be understood. People often say, "Life goes on." But how can one truly move forward when they must constantly change who they are just to fit in? This is more than just a story. It's a journey of identity, resilience, and the silent war many fight behind the scenes. Through these pages, may you come to understand the masked and maybe even recognize the mask you wear, too.

Why does my mind behave in the way that it does? I don't think that I think as others do. So many things in life that folk seem to accept without question, seem utterly bizarre to me. I'm slowly posting chapters from my finished manuscript. It's a psychological exploration of how we grow, adapt, and make sense of ourselves - written from both personal experience and years in clinical practice. It's a story about recovering from depression. My journey to stay happy after a long couple years. I write mostly poetry. N/B I wrote this when I was going through a difficult transition and I did it for different reasons; to keep tabs on my mental state, to authentically express my emotions, to be present in the moment, and allow myself to sit in the feels, to have something to look back at, etc.

It's a story that entails youthful exuberance. Nadia is a budding rose living in fairytale, all she wanted was to explore her journey through the desert of what every youth fantasize about. However, her joy was limited with the intervention of her over protective brother which she later appreciated for not allowing her naivety to lead her astray. In all these escapades, her cousin played a great role in trying to influence her but she escaped the influence of peer pressure because of the love her family bestowed on her... This story is solely for the purpose of englightment and therefore it was not written to ridicule anyone. I dedicate this book to all the teenagers out there.
