My hands suddenly stop shaking and I lose my breath for a couple seconds. Even though the voice was loud and clear i can't seem to understand what it said. I stand until I notice that everybody's eyes are on me, but my brain can't put two and two together. It isn't until Maya, my best friend since 2nd grade, screams my name as she tries to reach me among all people, that I snap back into reality.
This is real, I'm in the hunger games and the odds are not in my favor.
