The trip is over. This ship is lost. Is everyone out? Is everyone safe? They have no idea. The authorities have left. And so they must search. They must know. No one must suffer a fate in a watery grave. With this in mind, deep into the belly of the beast they go. This is a short story I've written in college. It is an experiment, a deviation from my comfort zone and undeniably different than what I typically write. This short story isn't something I want to publish. It's an excercize; a short journey for me to write in a way that I traditionally don't. At the core, this story is flawed by its predictable, cringey plot. It's me working with a modern style that's strange and foreign to me while I'm trying not to "Titanic" it at the same time. I would still love to know how folks feel about it in terms of style and diction. Enjoy a little desperation and a little love. Get out of it what you will. Breathe. All Rights Reserved
