Life started simple for Tarina and her young friend Willem, as these stories often go. As these stories also often go, however, they do not remain that way. When an army invades their home and enslaves of kills the population entirely the pair is thrust into a violent world they had never wanted to be part of. She lets the group find peace for a time before they have to flee again.
