Luis vit seul avec sa mère Anna et sa sœur Karin. C'est un enfant comme les autres, quoique particulièrement éveillé et plutôt mature pour son âge, doté d'une sensibilité à la musique hors du commun. 
Tout s'effondre lorsqu'Anna apprend que son fils n'a plus que six mois à vivre. Débute alors une folle contre la montre, le jeune garçon cherchant à tout prix à réaliser son plus grand rêve et la mère essayant par tous les moyens de sauver son fils.
