It didn't take long for you to notice the strange man in the village. The man who hid in his house all day snuck out of town at night. But why did you follow him that one cold night? Was it curiosity? Or was it something more powerful?

Appearing in a world with no identity and no purpose, Steve searches the hostile world of Minecraft in search of those very things. Turns out life is a whole lot harder when you don't know why you're living it. Ever since he first opened his eyes, he has always been drowning. Drowning in trials; lessons; questions... Never is there a moment wasted. The question is: who, is the human? Where, is the human? What, is the human? Which, is the human. How, is the human? When, is the human? Why is he here, alone? Proper description draft: Imagine how you would feel if you suddenly woke up, drowning? Imagine if you were stuck in a mysterious world, fighting. What would you do if you lived out years of your life, alone? Yeah...you get it.. This isn't a story about friendship, or even surviving. No... This is about a man named Steve, who was, truly..the last human... (A series of short stories that together make up one big story.. but is not a full book.... It made more sense in my head. 'XD ,) Inspired by the official MC book: "The Island" ..as well as the hidden lore in the game itself, mostly dug up in theory videos, over on "Game Theory".... and, my own self, role playing with myself for too long in single player worlds where I don't invite anyone to join. :P Please keep in mind that this ISN'T an origin story. Reading with that mind-set might only ruin the story for you. Book cover created by MEEE! No steal please! (Content rated as 13+ for explicit depictions of violence and ANGST!)

The man looked at the blinding light in the distance, straining his eyes forcefully. Where am I? He thought. The light calmed and he remembered. He was Steve. But... who was he? Yes, he knew his name, but he had no idea what his past had been like, who he was as a person, what he had done in his life, what others had done to him, or anything else. All he knew was Steve. Suddenly, the light came back, and a bald gray bearded man stepped out. "Hello, brother." Steve shivered and stepped back. "I have no idea who you are." The man's smile quickly turned serious and grim. "What do you mean, Steve? It's me, Notch." Steve winced. "I don't know anyone by that name." Notch frowned. "What do you mean? I am your brother, Steve!" "I-I've lost my memory." Notch straightened his face again. "It must've been that battle with Entity yesterday." he muttered _____________ My name's Zane. Me and my friend Cody and my sister Emily had been attacked by mobs in our hometown, sent out by a 'strange force' as the cops said. People called it the 'Event.' One day, we built a shelter and hid it away with a trap in front of it to insure that nothing from the outside could get in. Maybe if we would've simply warned people to stay out, to leave, they wouldn't look for us. But Tamika and Jack did look for us.
