Violet had a good life, until she turned 15. She was in the the car with her parents and siblings, traveling on a deserted road, then suddenly there was a person there. He had glowing red eyes. Her dad slammed on the brakes, causing their van to skid and swerve, they hit the barrier and started rolling down a steep hill, almost crashing into another car on different road, where they finally came to a stop. the couple in the other car slammed on their brakes and missed the van by an inch, they immediatly called 911. meanwhile, the man appeared next to the Violets window and spoke to her. She blacked, and woke up in the hospital. The doctors told her that her family didn't survive the crash, then she went to California to live with her uncle Scott and his wife Emily.
