December and Seven were always there for each other, inseparable. Even more so after the incident, which was the reason they moved to America. Of course, being governed by a carrot wasn't always the best, it was better than nothing.

They've been homeschooled for a year, to learn English and to catch up on the curriculum. Finally, they are going to public school. The problem is, they are going to different schools.

Now, normally this wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the fact that Seven was mute, and December was the only person he spoke verbally to.

December gets on fine, makes new friends and all that, but Seven is not as fortunate. In fact, he's bullied by the other students with words he doesn't understand, but the ones he does are hurtful.

While his brother hangs with his new friends and his parents work, Seven is left in a pit of despair.
