El libro trata de tres protagonistas 2 chicas y un chico, llamados Iván, María y Cristina. Ellos se enteran que un partido de ultraderecha ha dicho que ser homosexual es antinatural, así que un dia de vacaciones de verano deciden ir a la sede de ese partido y hacer un graffiti de esta frase: '¿Por qué es que, como cultura, estamos más cómodos viendo a dos hombres sosteniendo armas que sosteniéndose de las manos? (Ernest Gaines)' Muchas personas vieron el graffiti y se hizo viral en las redes sociales. La policía acabó encontrando a los culpables y los llevaron a comisaría. Allí les explican que les han denunciado por desperfectos en una propiedad gubernamental y ya que son mayores de 14 años pueden ser condenados.Cuando son juzgados, el juez y el jurado deciden condenarlos a 36 meses en un centro de menores.
