In a world where everyone's emotions are emitted through their eye color, secrets are difficult to keep. The world was once what one would consider normal - you had one eye color and it stayed that way, didn't change according to your feelings.
Of course, that all changed when a modification was made to humankind. Those who chose to not have this modification were called Naturals and the Naturals called those who were modified... well... Modified or Experiments.
Melody Siefkin is one of the Naturals. Her parents, Leah and Bradie, are Modificators. But they chose that Melody not have to go through what they had. They wanted Melody to have her secrets. To keep her real emotions safe. Because of this decision, she had been bullied.

I looked at him in shock, "How do you know that?" "I know a lot of things about you, Ms. Prior, even things you don't know yourself." Excuse me? "From what you can do," he paused giving me a look before directing his gaze back at the field. "To your eye color. Your parents have blue ones, so I don't see how that works." What? He continued without question, "You are still a mystery to us, as you have never showed any signs of power before, so it's sort of confusing." He paused for a few seconds them said, "You're different; you have an ability. You're a Supernatural." "Ok, I really need to go so..." I began walking back, but he stuck out his arm to block me. And that's when it happened. Flames rose on his arms, lighting them on fire. I backed up, feeling the heat radiate off his arms. I was in utter shock, yet he looked relaxed, amused even. "What the hell are you?" I jumped back, and the fire went out, a smirk rising on his face. "I'm just like you." ***** Kayla Prior has always been a popular girl, and everyone looks up to her. She has always had something different from the rest of the crowd, and never knew what it was. There are others like her who support her every step. However, none can help her with what she is about to face. She's the key to defeating evil forces that lie in wait. She's being hunted down, and Kayla gets into a mess that no one can get her out of, except the ones she trusts... My life was normal. I was a good sister, daughter, and stayed to myself. But if you were to tell me that I would have been hurt by the people I love the most, loved by the person I hate the most, and tormented by the memories around me... I would have laughed in your face. But change is one hell of a bitch. And it takes one person to make that change, that very drastic change, worth while. The question is... who is that person? You tell me.
