My father died. He died in one of Shinsengumi's raids. They were military organization built to protect the chaotic Capital of Kyoto. It was an accident, I knew. Yet, I couldn't help hating on Shinsengumi until they became a significance in my dull life and proved to be otherwise. Captured or rather, hired suddenly to be Shinsengumi Demon Vice Commander Hijikata Toshizo's personal servant, I sought for freedom. As a woman, marriage was my ultimate destiny but I had been turning away from it. Would my engagement grant me the freedom I desired?
