The In-Between

Brilliant, often perceived as cold, Ryce is guardian of the Death Vale; Known to most as the In-Between. This ghoul knows his job, and he takes it seriously, shutting out all ideas of the warmth of a family. When he isn't ushering souls along to their ultimate resting place, he studies magic and the arcane in the privacy of his study.

Gwel is the familiar to the most powerful ghoul known to the paranatural community, she has a habit of bringing cheer, food, and often gossip of the world beyond the In-Between to Ryce, even when he's not always in the mood for it.

Isla is 11. Alone. A nobody. She can't remember where she's from, and she can't remember what she was running from. All she knows is that the dark is an enemy; a terrifying beast that will swallow her whole if she doesn't avoid it at all cost.
