Gwel is the familiar to the most powerful ghoul known to the paranatural community, she has a habit of bringing cheer, food, and often gossip of the world beyond the In-Between to Ryce, even when he's not always in the mood for it. Isla is 11. Alone. A nobody. She can't remember where she's from, and she can't remember what she was running from. All she knows is that the dark is an enemy; a terrifying beast that will swallow her whole if she doesn't avoid it at all cost. She ran from the dark, crying out for help into the cold night.
