What would it be like if Harry hadn't faced all that abuse from the Dursley's as someone else had faced it for him, and how would Percy be like then?

Percy's adventures as a demigod would start earlier than the actual book. Also I will most likely not be writing them as I am lazy.
This book will most likely be gay with definitely no percabeth so if you are highly against LGBT or doesn't like anything aside from percabeth this is just prereading info. Additionally, this is my first book so please don't criticise too much, tho ideas are welcome(even if I might not use them). Lastly, I haven't really read all the Harry Potter books so all info may not be accurate.

[1] New Beginnings: WARNING!! Story is technically complete but I started editing literally years ago then never finished so the beginning's a little funky! Percy Jackson was adopted at the age of seven by the nastiest family in the world: the Dursleys. He met Harry Potter, the most wonderful person in the entire universe, that same day. Though completely unrelated, the boys were nearly identical, a connection forming between them that would last years to come. The pair would go through life as brothers in everything but blood. Connected at the hip, these seemingly average boys had much more in store for them than they could ever imagine. A note: Percy Jackson doesn't discover anything about the demigod side of his universe until later in the second book. Just a warning. If that's too slow for you, don't read. Percy and Annabeth-Our Journey Through Life
It started out with just wanting to write a cute little series of one-shots, but this story has become the light of my life. What I thought would get maybe 200 reads max has blossomed into 20,000. It came to a trainwreck of a stop last summer, but due to begging from multiple fans, I've agreed to write a sequel. Reading Maddie Potter and Percy Jackson
I've never seen anybody write a Harry Potter and Percy Jackson crossover where fem/Harry is also a demigod. I think I've made it work. Also instead of Harry being the main character (he's still in it, just as Maddie's brother, that's actually her cousin and not her brother), it's a girl named Maddie and she's Artemis' daughter. Yes I know Artemis is a maiden goddess, I was eleven or twelve when I wrote this, so apologies in advance
