Evangeline has lived her life with a dark and sinister voice in her head, a 'companion' that brings forth urges that she is horrified by. Helpless against her own growing misery, the darkness threatens to consume her body and soul, forcing her dainty hands to commit sickening deeds. All she ever wanted in life was a purpose to strive to, a goal to reach. A light at the end of her ever darkening tunnel. Why is she on this world, living this life, doing these things. Why is she? ___________________________________________________________________ This story will contain a lot of dark subjects and won't be for the faint of heart. On a warm morning in the 1850's, Evangeline relaxes in her massive Missourian estate without a worry in the world. Evangeline's day collapses as her twin brother and father burst into the living room, chasing after the "family friend" because she did not fulfill her morning jobs, revealing the friend's true role in the house: a slave; brought into the Freebourne's family estate as their property. The event forever altered Evangeline's view on both the idea of slavery and her family, provoking her to run away with Jewel, and instead of the warm feeling of compassion toward her father and brother, a newer, colder perception emerged: hate. Although she still deeply cared for her flesh and blood, her feelings competed as she abhorred her family's principles. Her hate for her brother's Confederate opinions and her will to fight for freedom for all could drive her to take the lives of those opposed to her -including her twin brother- but does that really make Evangeline a killer? [NOT ENTIRELY ACCURATE, MADE TO FIT THE PLOT, it's called Historical Fiction for a reason] [sorry that the cover looks so photoshopped lol] [STORY CREATED ON MARCH 30, 2017]
