Growth of Foreign Visitors in Nepal
In the year 2018, Nepal got booming tourism growth by 24% with the number of foreign tourists in Nepal reaching over the million mark of 1,173072 according to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). This growth is hugely significant when compared to the figures of 2017 which was only 940,218. It took Nepal two decades to achieve the one million milestone and now the Ministry of Culture and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has targeted to boost tourism and reach the milestone of two million foreign visitors in the year 2020,
The year 2018 was a golden year for international tourism, the world tourism organization (UNTWO) estimates that there was an overall 6% growth totaling 1.6 billion of worldwide international tourist arrivals (overnight visitors).
