Phoebe was initially happy for Alek when her life-long friend excitedly showed her his new abilities. No longer would they spend lunchtime wallowing about their deteriorating sense of self-worth. No longer would they be struggling to fight for themselves in a cruel world. They had a defense. They were powerful.

But what happens when power gets to someone's head? What happens when someone brings danger to themselves and others with only one person to witness?

Pheobe isn't the gifted heroine. She's the sidekick: out of the spotlight, without a chance of saving the day. She would be nothing without Alek. He's the only reason people even talk to her.

Alek makes that perfectly clear.
