In a world of gods, pirates, and blessings, Phoenix Finch lives in a small coastal town secluded from the rest of the world. In a town that values rules, traditions, and law above all else, Phoenix has never known of anything else. When he is both rescued and kidnapped by the most fearsome pirate of them all, Nico Maheras, The West Wind, he is brought into a world so unlike his own. Scared and alone, he lashes out, and the captain lashes right back. As he is introduced to more and more of the crew, he finds that maybe, Pirates aren't as bad as he thought, and maybe the captain isn't as scary as he seems. He begins to settle into the ship, finding friendship and freedom. But when his sister is kidnapped by Redcoats for her blessing, he must take action and save her along with his new friends. But Phoenix will soon find out there is more to himself, the captain, and this story, than it seems. - - - This is the first draft of my novel, which took about a year to write. Michael wasn't the type of guy to fall for just anyone. It wasn't his fault he turned out to be gay. If not for his father claiming it was a good thing, he wouldn't have questioned his sexuality at the age of 12. He didn't have a thing against homosexuals, but not many people in his city accepted him. Moving to another country was his best option and that's exactly what he did. Sydney wasn't your typical girl. Opposite of Michael, she went after any and every person who showed interest in her. She didn't grow up learning the pros and cons of being bi. Her mother didn't seem to care and her father was barely around to care. Though she had surrounded herself with her gay friends, she couldn't figure out if he was gay or not. As the relationship between the two grow, they began to realize their true feelings for each other. Is it just a phase or is it really affection? Sydney's friends try to convince her not to get too close to him. Michael's parents are equally happy with his sudden change as it was his choice. Will they continue to be the friends they thought they were?
