Years into the future scientists have make a miraculous discovery, the Day of Death. The exact date and time - down to the very minute - that every human on Earth will die. No one celebrates birthdays anymore, every celebrates and looks towards their Death Day. Amy Baker had been ready to die, she had been since her 5th birthday when she was presented with her 'Death Day Notice'. She is due to die September 3rd, 2089, at exactly 11.33pm.
Today, is September 3rd, 2089, and the time is 11.36pm - and Amy is still living and breathing.
Follow her journey of discovery, from a life that was supposed to be short, with no hopes, no aspirations, to fighting the system for her right to die. Her heart couldn't beat. Her brain couldn't think. Her lungs couldn't take in oxygen. Her body couldn't move. Dead. Despite all of this, on May 21st 2017, Ember's feet walked through Earths rich soil. Her hair flew in the wind. And the sweet air filled her lungs. Scientists had been secretly researching how to bring the dead to life. To most, it was a miracle. But to some, it was wrong. They believe dead should stay in Irkalla.
