My name is Delphine Martinez and I am intelligent. I have wondered when women were praised for being intelligent. I have wondered when eye color didn't matter. I am female. I have brown eyes. I am property of Ellis Martinez. Help. In a world where trees are hoarded and indoor plumbing is virtually nonexistent, lives Delphine. Delphine is 14 years old. It is female. Delphine is an it. She is property because she is a female. She's considered 'dumb' because she has brown eyes. Why? We don't know. The desired race is green eyes and blonde hair. If you're a women with green eyes and blonde hair you are still treated poorly but not as bad as Delphine. Delphine is considered trash. But the government was wrong. She is not trash. She is intelligent. So Ellis Martinez better watch his back.

In every stupid and cliché teen fiction story, there's always the blonde cheerleader that people think is a complete bitch and acts as the sinister antagonist of the story. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm that blonde cheerleader that people think is a complete bitch and acts as the sinister antagonist of the story. Is it my fault that I was born with this hair color or with the blue eyes? Is it my fault that I worked hard to be the leader of the cheer team? And how come there's always this goody-two-shoes who comes in and rains on my parade? Let's list off the criteria: Blonde? Obviously. Blue eyes? Like, as you say, "a reflection of the ocean" Cheerleader? Complete with the uniform. Bimbo? My grades beg to differ. A bitch? I'm not even going to deny it. Antagonist? Well, I'll let you be the judge of that.
