Yoga and clinical social work practice integrated can reap mental, physical, and spiritual health benefits both the clinician and the client. There are presently growing populations of licences clinical social workers (LCSW) who are registered yoga teachers, or are pursuing the practice of yoga, meditation, and breathwork. Furthermore, colleges and universities around the world are holding yoga groups and clubs. Additionally, yoga is extremely beneficial in healing trauma in the mind and body, which is often the focus and role of the mental health specialized social worker. Yoga and social work often go hand in hand, and the Indian discipline uses breathing techniques, asanas, and meditation to calm the mind, body, and spirit. This book seeks to educate on the positive aspects of social work and yoga together.
