During the Great Fire of Arün five years ago, Prince Laverne Ingerman stared down death, succumbed to fear and accepted that his life was at its end to save his father. However, Laverne survived thanks to his father's love for his children and King Valka took Laverne's place in the afterlife. Now, King Laverne has one wish: to resurrect Valka. Unfortunately for him, there is only one way to get his impossible wish granted: resurrect the dead gods.

"As I laid on the filthy mat, my white hair fanning out like a halo around my head, I felt that ice inside of me fester. It grew and spread until it spanned across my entire body. It engulfed every thought inside my head, every feeling that was bubbling up inside of me. Like a virus. The cold quieted it all, until everything was still and silent... Until I felt nothing at all." Eira Gellert's world comes crumbling down as her sister is forced to leave for the army. Now alone and desperate, Eira looks for a job in a society where if you don't have a job by nineteen you either go into the army or starve. When searching, Eira stumbles across a woman claiming to be a half fae in charge of a spy rebellion going against the king of the fae kingdom "Hiraeth". She offers Eira a job to work as a spy for her. Eira reluctantly agrees, knowing she has no other options. But the deal does not come without a price, to enter the fae kingdom, Eira must become fae. Now equipped with uncommon powers and other fae abilities, Eira is thrust into a world she's only ever heard fairy tales about. One's with evil kings and dark crowns and warriors made of wings and fire. There, she meets Sable Deidre, the king's killer. He is made of darkness and known for his brutality. Can she overcome her fear of this new life and the killer before her, or will his shadows swallow her whole? Names of characters subject to change Boss is a single mother and the commander of a small squad of rebel agents who dream of putting an end to the corruption of those in power. In the face of food shortages and dwindling finances, the leaders of the rebellion have begun to take drastic action, which Boss has been strongly and vocally in opposition to. This voice of dissonance is not something they can afford to let go, and so an attempt is made of the lives of Boss and her subordinates. Those who survived the attempt owe it to a mysterious mage, who without knowing them or their cause, risked his life to help them get to safety. But there is no such thing as a good samaritan in times of turmoil such as these, and Boss is convinced that this sorcerer has ulterior motives. She has more immediate concerns however, such as a gift from the mythical ferryman, who asks that she kill on his behalf to prevent the greatest threat to survival that humanity has ever known.
