Have you ever walked outside at night? When it's so dark and you can't see a thing at first? I often do that and I'm never afraid. Because I know that after a while my eyes will adjust to the dark and I will be able to make things stand out. I'm always safe. I always know where I am. But not today, it was so dark, all I could see was a suffocating darkness around me. Aria my wolf huffed in annoyance when even she couldn't see a thing or couldn't pick up a scent around us. 'Book 1 in the Shifter series' My name is Celina Birch and until yesterday me, and my siblings; Sydney and Alexander but Alex for short, thought we were human. Turns out we our from a family of shifters but, we would not know thy due to our parents dying when we were young and being adopted. The animal you shift into does not run in blood like people think. Yes, some family's lean more towards one animal but there are occasions where a member will shift into a different animal. It all depends on your personality. There are 22 types of animals you can shift into. Some are common and some are rare. Now we have the birds: the Ravens, the Eagles, the Vultures, and the Falcons. Then we have the felines: the Panthers, the Tigers, the Cougars, the Snow Leopards, the Cheetahs, and the Lions. Then we have our canines: the wolves, the foxes, the coyotes, and the hyena's. Are common because there are the mythical ones too. The flying creatures: the Hippogriffs, the Dragons, the Pegasus's, the Phoenixes, the Thunderbirds. The water creatures: the Sirens, the Mermaids, the Kelpies. The shapeshifting academy is kind of like Hogwarts with the letters and using owls for sending mail. Yes, there is a castle for the academy and no, there isn't any witch or wizards those are supposedly extinct. Now I have to go were going to find out what animal we shift into at the ceremony soon. If only I knew then that there was actually 23 types of shifters ~~~~~~~~~~ I wrote this series when i was very young, so any mistakes or grammar issues, or long descriptions, I am sorry about, but I won't be fixing them anytime soon either.Complete

There was a Spirit. A Spirit Wolf to be exact. She had fluffy white fur, and some parts as inside her ears, her paws, and her eyes glowed.This particular Spirit preferred to be alone. She did not like company. Only 2 years ago a raven wouldn't stop bothering her. Surprisingly, this bird became her beloved companion. He helps her with her job as a spirit-and distracts her at times. The Spirit Wolf's job is to bring life and to pass life. Bringing life is to help plants grow and to watch over all of the new mothers in spring. To pass life means to let a corpse sink into the ground and become one with earth itself. If the creature that passed had a good life, the Spirit would put them into the afterlife. If they died a very unfair death or was too young for their life to be over, she would help them reincarnate. She could not reincarnate a creature every time it was killed, though. It would only make them have infinite lives. The Spirit Wolf seemed unhappy when she did her job, but she enjoyed seeing the faces of pure happiness of the new mothers. To summarize her duty, she needs to keep the law of nature in order. Even though she despises humans, she helps them too.Complete

A boy named Aiden King is living his normal teen life when his dad suddenly takes him, his cousin, and his uncle for a hunting trip in the forest. The trip takes a few wrong turns, and the four of them decide to head back. After a month passes, however, Aiden's dad decides that they should go back to the forest for a do-over. As Aiden expected though, the trip goes wrong once again. Only thing is, he didn't know that it was going to be worse then any of them could've imagined. When all the drama from the trip dies down a little, a certain someone is forced to stay with them. After a couple of days, however, this "someone" shows no sign of leaving. Then Aiden makes some friends who wouldn't exactly be considered normal in the eye of humans, and -with some of his friends from his high school- goes on a journey that nobody knew would be possible. The Blazing Shadow
It's dark... Everything is so dark... But like it or not I've gotten used to how dark this place can get, it's not like there are windows in the castle dungeon. Eventually my ears pick up some moaning noises from what I can only assume are other prisoners... His prisoners. Looking around I come across the same landscape as always, a black stone cell with these obsidian bars that prevent me from escaping from here... And as a bonus I still have these demonite shackles holding me to the cell wall. But like I said, I got used to it... There's just one thing in this cell that irritates me deeply, sometimes more than him. There is a leak inside my cell, a leak that seems to only come to torment me when there is no more light outside... Or at least it seems that I only notice its existence when the stillness of the night dominates this place. I don't know if it's the lack of content in my mind... Maybe the boredom of this place is finally driving me insane. But I swear, with every drop that falls against this cold floor, it feels like a huge weight falling inside my head, I can't stand listening to that drip anymore, my head won't stop hurting because of it. But I heard something else that made me forget about the dripping for a few seconds, it was the noise of footsteps, footsteps that echoed throughout the dungeon, and I knew exactly who those footsteps belonged to. A few more harrowing seconds pass before his figure forms in the shadows, he approaches my cell and just... Stops. He stopped completely in front of my cell, with his hands behind his back, saying absolutely nothing and just staring at me. This... This irritates me so much. - What do you want? - I growl the question out looking down again, I don't want to have to look at the cocky smile of this... Monster. - A new job has appeared for you... - His voice echoes as his footsteps did before throughout the dungeon.Complete

I shuddered. It had never been so dark, nor so quiet before. There was always the light of the moon to guide me. The sound of the wind against the trees. I shook the thought from my mind and continued further into the wood. Then I saw it. A white light spread across the ground in front of me. The clouds had parted from where they were, revealing the moon at its fullest. I stared in awe. It had never been so bright. The ambiance began to come back. The wind began to dance with the trees. I closed my eyes. The scent of oak filled my nose and exhaled through my mouth. The aroma filled me with exhilaration. It filled me with something I couldn't explain. I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time. Although it was something I wasn't used to feeling, I craved it deeply. I felt happy. I felt as if nothing else mattered than this moment. I opened my eyes. Everything seemed clearer. I could see the particles of dust flying in the beam of light that shone around me. I wanted to stay here for longer. I wanted this moment to last forever. Until I saw the wolf. It was hidden among the fold of trees behind me. It stared at me in aggravation. It's brows furrowed in my direction. It's face, livid with anger, revealed a set of unpleasant and sharp teeth. It began to move slightly forward. The wolf bounded towards me. It happened so quickly I had no time to react. It's limbs outstretched. It's teeth bared. My body, paralyzed from fear, refused to move. My lip quivered, urged to call for help, but no help would come. I was too deep into the woods. No one would hear my screams. The thought was soon interrupted by the wolf's teeth digging into my side.Complete
