Kara Mills is on the run; has been since she was 10 years old. With a new city and a new name every month, the 15 year old is lost and alone in the world. Kara's life seems to just keep going downhill, and when her nasty past catches up with her, she decides the time has come for her to end it all. That is, until a tall boy coaxes her off the edge of a bridge.

Tyler Madison is an orphan. Every family that he has ever lived with has kicked him to the curb, all in their own ways. On his 16th birthday, Tyler sneaks out of his current home, away from the yelling foster family that never liked him anyway, convinced completely that he was created to be by himself. That is, until he comes across a figure about to jump off a bridge, and he realizes that nobody deserves to be alone.

Can Kara and Tyler start their lives over together, no longer alone? Or will their troubled pasts eventually take their toll?
