The kingdom of Anglecia is changing. New technologies, born in the fires of industry are revolutionising agriculture and manufacturing, but the peasantry resent the transition, and threaten the ambitious and volatile boy-king with revolt unless he restores the old ways, but the nations across the sea have centuries-old grudges, and while the Anglecian navy was once more than a match for any aggressor, it is now outdated, outnumbered and outclassed.
Facing a war he cannot win, and embroiled in a struggle from which he must emerge victorious, King Anuin hires a ruthless band of assassins to decapitate the rebellion before it can tear Anglecia apart.
But as Anuin’s attempts to control his people grow increasingly damaging, a young assassin realises that the king must die, lest he hurl his people into a conflict from which no victory can spring.
