Emma Swan is going into her last year of University at a new school. She's back in her hometown of StoryBrooke to show everyone that she's changed. Life hasn't always been easy for Emma; from being given up by her teenage parents and moving from house to house, to having a child herself at seventeen, but being unable to care for him, and then finding her birth parents again and trying to have a relationship with them. It was all too much so she ran, which was nothing new for her.
After a few years in Boston she's ready to show everyone that she can finish school, secure a career, and get her son back from his adoptive parents.
Enter Killian Jones, he's a bit cocky and has a bit of a troubled past, but this year he's turned over a new leaf, or so he hopes. After getting into some trouble with a group he was involved in at the University the Dean is forced to step in. Being that this is his last year Killian has two options, either be kicked out or become a TA in the class the Dean is teaching. Killian chooses the high rode and takes the job so that he can secure a spot at graduation.
When Emma and Killian meet, Emma is attempting to put herself back together. She has no intentions on falling for the town trouble maker, she's already made that mistake in the past. She also has no intentions on sleeping her way to the top to get an "A" in class as Killian is the TA in her Fairy Tale & Literature class.
As time goes on Emma can't deny the strong attraction she feels for Killian, but when he decides to Emma thinks Killian is falling back to his old ways Emma has to make a decision. She can either fall for another trouble maker or continue on her path to get her son back.
