In another version of this story I didn't make it. In another life we were all left under the crushing weight of the devastation around us until our lungs collapsed and we forgot how it felt to fill them up.
I know how that story ends. Four boxes. Four funerals.
That story would be easier to tell. Clean. Over.
But I got out.
